I am a graduating senior this December.  TSU is notorious for their large tuition increases and irresponsible use of that money for non-academic reasons.  In the last year there have been three, look them up they are in the papers, break-ins very near campus that all ended in multiple deaths and wounded homeowners.  I have been constantly receiving student news emails regarding a recent sexual assault in the library or an attempted rape in one of the parking garages.  The teachers are for the most part, below average with most just hoping for a paycheck and not really seeming to take serious their positions as respectable professors.  To sum it up, it's as if you are attending a Public High School all over again.  In my opinion though, the very worst part is that coming to college I believed in a challenge, in academic competition and creativity... what I received from this university is a lack of difficulty in any courses, an excused laziness on behalf of the faculty and students, and my own personal disillusionment with the State of Texas Public Education system from K-College.  What I have learned in this time is how to continue to educate oneself outside of the institution and for every ball Texas State has dropped in the realm of my education, I have done over three times with my own individual efforts.  They have reminded why it is so important to earn your education and not have it given to you.

Get your Facts straight, The homicides where WAYYYY off campus and was due to people from SA coming to rob a person for a drug deal,This was one of San Marcos's first Deaths by homicide in like 10 years. The reporting of rape was a cry of attetion by the female, that is why in the middle of the day she couldent describe the individual or the car.... And she refused to take a rape kit or even report the the police. Any college campus is going to have break-ins retard, We are lucky that san marcos is a smaller city unlike Austin or houston where more serious crime is more prevalent

responseI think this guy basically just proved your point, he can't even spell haha.

responseYeah--there's crime at every school, dingbat. You ever watch UT football? Their quarterback was accused of rape last season.
