I left over 10 years ago, but my cousin just graduated a few years ago so I have some knowledge of the school as it is today. I can say that I was not Greek and had a great time. Maybe if your only goal is to party every night of the week then going Greek would help. But I was there for an education and to live on my own and experience some of the world outside of my parents' home. I got that for sure. I participated in all the social events that the school put on (which there were many and were well attended) and found my way out to cultural activities going on in the area (of which there were plenty and diverse). So for those people that say you have to be Greek I think they're not really trying at all.

About the education, I had a great experience in the Business school. It wasn't Harvard but it was real-world focused and to be honest that's what you're going to college for…to get a job! I took advantage of recruiters that came to campus. I had a $16/per hour internship with two different companies (Lockheed and GTE) while I was there and those came from recruiters that visited the campus. While my other friends didn't take advantage of those opportunities and went to find non-paying jobs, I was making a ton of money. The point? Take advantage of what's on offer, plan ahead, and you can be a success!

About life on campus, all is different from when I was there. I was in Tom Brown Hall, which was torn down. Now there are beautiful new dorms. You can't beat the housing there at TCU now. Football and basketball were free to students, the new Student Center and gym look incredible. There's an endowment to keep fresh flowers for every season. You're paying a good price to go there but they're not skimping on the campus!
