I
had spent my freshman year playing baseball at a smaller
school. I transferred (scholarship) to TLU hoping I was
going to a better program. TLU's baseball program was
way over hyped and only scheduled teams we could beat,
which was no challenge at all. During fall ball,
me and about 5-6 other new guys didn't play much...the
coach wanted to stick with the guys that had been
there, even though they were not as good. I
got recruited from fall ball into the Yankees minor league
system and 5 of the other new guys left and
became starters at the D-1 level. Playing baseball at
TLU was about like playing at a good high school
team, certainly not the level I expected. The coach
was a nice guy but he most of the time
he had on blinders. I later finished my degree
at UT/Austin which was by far a superior school for
studying business. TLU's business school only had about five
profs and only one of them was any good.
