TLU was a small school with small time means.  My MIS degree was nothing more than a basic program.  I was able to use it to get into a good CS graduate school where I got an MBA in IS and several graduate certifications.  I could have gone to ITT and saved about two years of bleeding heart liberalism.  TLU had bads and goods...the good part was that it was easy and I was able to use my free time taking real stuff at ITT.  It was a very small school but that might have been okay...I don't know.  Their technology is wayyyyyyyyyyyy behind.  When I got into grad school, people from other schools had taken courses that TLU wasn't even close.  Since I had an academic scholarship and partial baseball ride, I stayed at TLU...the baseball was about as bad as the academics.  The computer science program at TLU will hurt you in the real world, but if you take extra courses at another school or go to grad school it will be okay.  If I had the money I would not have gone to TLU, but as I said I had full scholarship coverage, so I sucked it up and graduated with a 3.85.  I made some C's in those artsy courses taught by people who don't speak English.  TLU is a white, middle class school...there is very little or no diversity (which I don't care, but that seems to be one of their bragging points).  And taking a few religion courses won't hurt anyone.  The computer science dept is very poor...the business dept was okay I guess...the history dept sucked big time...pysch & soc were okay...English courses weren't too hard but did give you a lot of busy work...the sciences were easy but fun...very interesting.  Overall TLU was an okay experience, but I'd have to rate it dismal in academics or the worth of the degree.  And don't buy the BS about mandatory to be in the dorm...just say no thanks and live where you want.  They need your body because their enrollment decreases by the week.
