Without over-exagerating, I will say this school is a shithole.

Pros: It's filled with engineers and medical students, so if you REALLY want an education in those fields, I would definitley recommend UTA. It is a research school for the most part, so any science major can really find a niche.

The campus is fair, not ugly, but by no means Da Vinci worthy. The food category is pretty good. Quite a few different choices on campus, such as Panda Express, Subway, and Starbucks. Fuzzy's tacos is awesome off-campus food (fish tacos baby.) Intramurals are pretty good since the frats play. The rec center is emaculate and an awesome place to work out and play sports.

Cons: this school is by no means a social juggernaut. Im sure BYU could throw a better party. NO FOOTBALL TEAM. two words - effing retarded. School is dead after 12pm when the 20,000 commuters make there way home- if im third in line somewhere, i consider the place packed for UTA.

The greek life is the only thing worth considering, and i would recommend Pi Kappa Alpha, i did not rush, but they were some awesome guys.

If you dont like alot of diversity, make a bee-line right past this place. I was overwhelmed by how much crime was on campus, and it is lined with security poles with HELP buttons. It was supposed to be a safe campus, i guess they forgot to rate night time and the sirens you hear 8 times everynight. It seemed everyday there were 4-5 new crime bulletins about a black male beating someone's ass, and i almost had a run-in myself.

Stay in doors after 7pm (or sundown) unless you're with a big ass friend or a group of people. Homeless people love to ask for money here, so come prepared with nose-plugs and a few dollar bills.

The faculty are extremely into themselves, they love to not give two shits about you and have fun doing it. Many cut NO slack, and treat the class as if it is your only class- dont think you cant study and do good here.

Overall: F*** UTA. Rank #1 in biggest waste of my time; a bullshit experience.

Seriously, dont bother coming here. Everything you wanted in college will not be found here.
