So this is my 3rd Review - each year I write a review of how time affects my opinion. I have been reading other reviews and so wanted to pitch in:Well first on the table is the issue of LDS: It is true that other thoughts and opinions are blocked out. It is also true that many professors/students ignore other religions as EVEN possibly correct. After all nobody really knows which religion is correct/true. Third, if you are not LDS things get a little weird sometimes. You feel frustrated at the system. Sort of left out. Left out because almost the entire system here of socializing at BYU is based on the church and the different wards/groups students are in. So if you do not go to church then you don't have any church friends (which constitute 90% of all your possible friends). You only have academic friends or students you see in your class. Mormons in my opinion are good people. But self-centered and many times annoyingly ignorant. So keep that in mind. Education I thought was much better before but as I go into deeper classes I see that some courses are not as rigorous as they should be. Overall education though is good undoubtedly.I feel also that at BYU, American Pride usually portrays itself in an arrogant way in some ways boasting the economical and global standing of the country undermining other countries that are of equal economic presence in the world. That could be something to do with Mormons or just BYU in particular - however I do not know why.In summary: As years have gone by, education wise I have been constant in my opinion more or less. In the cultural and social dimension I have moved more negative. In the religion dimension I have hit negative bottom where I have begun to despise how LDS think of themselves as the only ones who are correct. All in all, its a tough decision to make whether you want to be at BYU or not. Not as straightforward as you might think.
