Major: Nursing (This Major's Salary over time)
First off, I am only addressing the nursing program, as that is all that I have had much interaction with. I am not sure how it is elsewhere, but in Utah the nursing programs are extreemly competitive. Weber does not do anything to help with the situation. Books are always the latest edition, and expect to pay half again your tuition for a years worth of books. Not to mention a $300.00 lab kit that is essentially a couple of I.V. start kits and a few bags of NS. I once asked one of the advisors why Weber required an additional four semesters to get your BS in nursing. She said "cause then you will be a Weber nurse." Seriously?!? WTF.. what she really meant is "cause then we can milk you for two more years worth of tuition, books, and fees." I am not going to Weber for my RN-BSN, and am glad that my BS won't be from them. If it weren't for the fact that they are handy for me, as far as location, I would definitely not go there! BTW, did I mention busywork? Yeah… tons of that too. Do yourself a favor if you are going into nursing… go to the U, or UVU or SUU, or anywhere but Weber.
