Recent graduate here. Before I came to school I heard all the stuff everyone says like that CNU is a "dry campus" and that there is no social scene. The social scene is what you make it. I got drunk all the time (weekdays included) and hardly missed a beat. Every state school in VA is a "dry campus." Kids get violations at UVA and Virginia Tech too. I got an honor code violation and an alcohol violation, no sweat off my back, I did my service and I still graduated. And why do you think so many kids get alcohol violations? It's not because they're alcoholics drinking themselves to sleep, it's because so many people pregame in their dorms for the parties they're going to later. I also like how people say there is no social life then complain about the CNU PD getting them after a party…I had plenty of friends come to visit from other state schools and they had amazing experiences. and similar statements are common from the mouths of visitors. CNU's party scene is awesome, it's just somewhat hidden and lot of people don't know of or don't put the effort in to find out. Maybe that's what makes the CNU party scene so fun though, it's a tight knit community that attracts outgoing individuals who are willing to make an effort and not be too shy to meet new people.A lot of that has to with getting involved. Join a Greek organization or a club sports team and you will have a killer time. No one is going to come to your door (well, not anymore) and tell you to come with them to have fun, go out and find them. Guarantee if you approach a Greek or a club sports player and tell them you're interested they'll at least invite you out to practice/tryouts or to a rush event and then it's up to you from there…
