Date: Dec 16 2003 Major: English (This Major's Salary over time) Strengths:ACADEMICS (if its a top priority, W&M may be for you)Prepare to study on the weekends, but if you love to learn then its the greatest place on earth for it. No one holds your hand, however W&M is a nuturing place.THE FACULTY- I cannot tell you how brillant they are, how approachable, how uber-intellegent, how caring/concerned. As an English major, I felt I could discuss anything from the personal to a novel with my profs. and gain advice from world-class academics. These people make W&M the best. They take the time out to care, and they do care. (especially compared to my grad school!)Mixed Bag:FELLOW STUDENTS- its a type. You either LOVE them, or want to leave. College is a time to find yourself, W&M gives you the tools to do so. I did not love everyone, but I found individuals who will change the world, and who changed me…Food- let's just say I learned to like Rice Crispies. Lunches with friends are always fun though, and you can make fun of the food.Dorms- very quaint, however they are dorms.Social Life-there is essentially nothing to do in Williamsburg, but I was always surrounded by friends. I could not leave my dorm without running into 5 people I "had" to talk to. Once you find your place, you make your own parties. Williamsburg- aesthetically will take your breath away. I wish I had gone for more runs down DOG street. However, people laugh when I tell them we only had 3 pseudo-bars…and pray for a car.
