William & Mary overall is a wonderful place to go to school. The friendliness and caring of the student body surpass any I have come in contact with, and I have visited many friends and relatives at their schools all over the country. The academic work here is challenging to be sure, but faculty take a personal interest in each student. At W&M you get the academic benefits of attending a small liberal arts institution without the price tag. William and Mary is not a "party school" but there are more than enough places to party if you want to, as well as numerous other activities (movies, live music, cultural events) every night. And it is so easy to get involved in any extracurricular activity you could imagine - I've gotten active in so many organizations I never dreamed of, and it has helped me make a ton of amazing friends and learn a lot about myself. William & Mary is a place where you will learn inside and outside the classroom. One of my favorite things about the school is our administration. I have had the opportunity to know many of them personally, and I'm not the exception, that seems to be the trend around here. Our deans, and even our President, work hard to get to know the interests of every student, and are extremely approachable if you ever want to meet with them to discuss your concerns. While the tourists are a trip, Williamsburg isn't always the most exciting place to go to school. That's changing, though, as the city is starting to build movie theaters and student-friendly stores in closer proximity to campus.Bottom line: If you want to slack off, never got involved in anything, and be closed-minded, don't come here. If you want to learn a lot and meet some of the most interesting and motivated students in the country, definitely consider W&M!
