Read the reveiws on this site and campusdirt.com, for the most part htey are true. The school is excellent for academics, but everythign else seems just mediocre. The food, although vastly improved with newly renovated cafeterias, gets old fast. For the most part people here are very approachable. The sports teams are starting to get more popular, especially football, but spectators are still relatively scarce. The activity opportunities here are amazing, there truly is a club for every interest, even a revolutionary war reeneacting club…But weekends really are terrible here. You look forward to them just so you can have more time to study. The frat parties get very old after you go a few times, and off campus parties are small and are often busted by the police. The town and campus police are extremely strict on alcohol laws. There is also very little chance of going anywhere off campus if you don't have a car because the nearest "city" is about 30 minutes away, and richmond is about an hour.Overall, if you are really hardcore about studying and aren't really much into partying then this place is for you. Also, if you're a conservative Christian this place is also for you. Warning to Out-of-Staters: There are A LOT of VA kids, and the student body is fairly homogenous, so I wouldn't go here if you're looking for diversity. As for me, I am considering transferring next year/semester, I still haven't decided.
