JMU has to be Virginia's uglist school. The campus has a major highway running right through it. One side has buildings that James Madison, himself, probably walked through. The other side of campus is built with ugly yellow brick. Getting a decent class schedule is impossible due to budget cuts and the student body here has a collective IQ of 12.

James Madison was long dead before the university was founded, so President Madison didn't walk through any buildings. The school was called by another name at its founding as well: The State Normal and Industrial School for Women at Harrisonburg.

That was probably just a JOKE, dude. like when ppl make fun of john mccain for being there for the signing of the constitution. It's just a crack, it's not literal.

I don't think it's a joke. I bet there are students who actually think James Madison founded the university.

Jefferson is the founder of UVA, and since JMU students want to emulate UVA, it makes sense that some might thing that a former U.S. president founded JMU. It didn't happen. It's a good thing the university was renamed! The State Normal and Industrial School for Women would look downright silly on a diploma.

Well, I thought the yellow brick part of campus was pretty nice; I thought they had a modern vibe, which I liked. However, the rest of the campus was okay at best. I wouldn't say the kids had IQ's of 12, but they definitely weren't UVA or UNC material. I wasn't a fan of the school myself, but it's a decent school.
