let me put it this way: if i could stay at chapman but import new people, i would.  i love the school, the program, the teachers, the city... but i do not like the people here at chapman.  coming from seattle, i have been culturally shocked by the kids of the OC.  sure, i've made friends but i expect more than shallow conversation and a bit more intelligent wit wouldn't kill either.  i guess my advice is if you feel you are a very fun unique person who enjoys intellectual people, perhaps you should rethink southern california all together.  but if having no good friends and great program is enough... well, chapman it is!  oh yeah my major is advertising and pr... feel free to email me questions

responseIm from so cal and am definitely not one of those rich, snobby kids....dont make people believe everyone here is like that. there are plenty of down to earth, amazing kids i go to school with too:) im in 12th grade.

I'm a Junior in high school, searching for the college for me. My sister goes to Concordia University in Portland, OR and I have family up north in WA, and I love the "I think, therefore I am" attitudes of the people up there. I'm finding it really difficult to decide whether or not I should go to SoCal. I will be an English major but I will also pursue film.. And SoCal is the best place for that for sure. I don't want to be surrounded by sucky people.. People are my playground and I dig for those meaningful friendships and meaningful conversations. I also have a party side though.. Basically, is there a chance I would l-o-v-e it?!

questionHey, I'm from Upstate New York, thinking about transferring to the West coast next semester. Chapman is a prospective school for me, however, I've read lots of reviews about stuck up students and terrible night life. I just visited Southern California last month and stopped by Chapman to check it out. I loved the campus and the admissions advisor who I talked to. However, I never got a chance to talk to students. I thought most students-being from SoCal were laid back as opposed to the loud spoken New York attitude. Also, what is the night life like? Are there any good bars in Orange or does everyone go to surrounding cities to go out?
