Overcrowded
classes, enormous halls with very uncomfortable desks. Very busy campus.
Faculty not interested in the particular student: there are too
many of them around. Professors are more or less knowledgeable,
but it's hard to develop a personal approach in 500
student class. TAs are not qualified enough in most cases.
Almost all instructors are extremely left-wing, and campus overall is
obsessively liberal. The campus is NOT safe, with numerous robberies
and other criminal activities. At the same time it's the
most expensive state university in WA. There are almost no
college alternatives in Seattle metro, apart from small costly private
liberal arts colleges, so UW could be picky. Some students
prefer less crowded programs in UW Bothell. Overall, I'm disappointed
with UW, at least with their social sciences. If
you want to experience left brainwashing during every lecture in
the overcrowded halls this place is for you. Football craze. Did I mention it's really rainy in Seattle?
