It rains a lot here in Humboldt and can be quite cold, we are also isolated (no large cities and very little nightlife) but on the other hand it is the most beautiful place I have ever been. We are 5-10 minutes away from gorgeous beaches and redwood forrests, and large friendly rivers to play in in the summer and mountains to ski down in the winter. We really have everything here if you are the outdoorsy type. Also, people here are really friendly and are very accepting of others' religions and cultures etc. Humboldt State tries very hard to diversify the campus through programs and courses. My English major is almost like an ethnic studdies major because we cover so much more than dead white male writers. I really like Humboldt and I think that most people (unless you need a city or cold concrete to keep you happy) would be happy here too. Come and visit us!
