This place seemed so wonderful after all the effort LMU gave to attract us to the school, but after you move in, they turn their attention toward next year's batch of incoming Freshman. Although classes are small, I've had a lot of trouble getting into the classes I need to graduate so far. I'm actually starting to worry I may need to go an extra semester. I've had a few good professors, but most are mediocre. The students were very friendly at first, but after about two weeks, the majority of people were in their established cliques. The way everyone clumps into their respected groups gives the campus a social environment similar to a high school's. Diversity here limited, "Ugg boots, bros, and hos" are common. Despite this, there are still enough people who are not orange from tanning or permanently drunk; you just have to sift through quite a bit of bullshit to find them. A large portion of students go home on weekends, which means the campus is pretty much dead on Friday and Saturday nights. The best part about LMU is it's location in LA. It's only about a half hour away from downtown and Hollywood (without traffic, that is). But public transportation barely exists here, so if you don't have a car, be prepared to be stuck on campus.
