If you go to OCC, take SPCOMM 100 with La
Mer, whether you need speech or not. Go visit her
classes if you don't want to enroll, she'll be happy
to recieve you, I promise. (Tell her Tami Tran threatened
to kick you if you didn't *j/p* Tell her Tami
Tran told you to visit.) You will not regret it.
If you're going into computer networking and security, try Saichek.
If you're into fashion, they've got a pretty good program
and Amaral, the director, has a lot of connections, from
sportswear in CA (a lot of fashion teachers at OCC
work at nearby Hurley and Volcom; a few of those
teachers got their jobs through Amaral and some were even
past students of hers) to Donna Karan-types up in NY.
I'm sorta in a major dilemma between fashion and computer
science because of all the cool things I've been exposed
to here (I learned how to take apart a computer
and put it back together this semester and did it
alone in less than 45 minutes!!.) Also, OCC's culinary arts
program isn't shabby at all. The cafeteria looks more like
a nice restaurant to me. Plus, I just found out
that OCC's one of the few community colleges that offer
dance instructor and world dance certificates. Got pretty good instructors,
but stay away from Costas if you... umm... don't take
kindly to constant, well, not insults per se, but somewhat
mean words at times. He's a good dancer, though, I
mean REALLY good. He can teach you a lot of
you're willing to put up with his... err... firey-ness? Oh,
and they have an aviation program, too. Gotta neat “plane”
on the far end of campus for instruction. All in
all, I think this college offers a lot to offer. I really like it here.
