I was very optimistic about this school even when reading some bad reviews. I figured it couldnt be that bad, but believe me, take all these negative reviews and run. If ME, the person who couldnt be talked away from Full Sail 5 months ago hates it, then it must be true.

I will start out by saying I am one lucky individual who got out of the Full Sail scam.I started in August of 2008, very eager to start my learning. It only took a few weeks for that excitement to die down. By October of 2008 i realized what a joke the school was and thankfully withdrew before it was too late. I got into a decent university only on my high school transcript, which was thankfully amazing (3.8 unweighted). Full sail almost did ruin that opportuinity though, as many universities were reluctant to accept full sails useless credits.

This school only cares about getting you in and getting your money. Once you are accepted and in the system no one gives a flying shit about you or what your goals are. They spend a TON of money on the outlook and admission dept. Once you are there you realize that it is all smoke and mirrors.

The academics are mediocre, although if you dont get one thing you better prepare to be behind and teach yourself. Do NOT come to this school expecting good teaching, as you will end up teaching yourself the majority of the stuff you already dont know. You are stuck in a dark, dingy classroom or the first 8-9 months of the degree program, and only get to mess with the good stuff they show you for a few weeks. BTW NONE OF THE CREDITS ARE TRANSFERRABLE, ANYWHERE!

The teachers are all self absorbed jerks, who are constantly bragging about their past comings of being a small town DJ or working on an 90's one hit wonder band. They are for the most part full sail grads and this is the only option left for them in their great entertainment career.

Safety is a joke, as the security guards are more worried about parking than strangers wondering on campus. While I was there for 2 months alone I met 3 people in my classes who had their Macbooks stolen from them right outside the entrances.

Btw, I guarantee if you talk to over half of the students that are currently there they will admit the school is a bit of a scam. And a vast majority of kids will say they regret the decision to go but it is too late.

responsePersonally, I feel you had failed almost all your courses at Full Sail and are only bitter about it. I have visited the campus, talk to some of the professors, and have seen the schools environment and you know what? I was impressed. The students seemed very happy and very passionate about what it was they were there for. I even asked a random student outside one of the classrooms if the school was really worth going to in the end, and he told me,
I love it here, everyone's different, but this school was perfect for me.

And it is college and business in the end of it. Do you really expect the professors to spoon feed you the entire cirriculum? You should be able to handle it by this age, no one is gonna baby you once you're in college. It's all up to you, to go back home or to your dorm, open that textbook you spent money on to help teach you something new, and read it.

You come off very bitter, very pessimistic (you should look that word up, it's in quite a few books), and you just seem to be lashing out because you couldn't get the grade and stay on par with the rest of the students there, so you decided to give up and apply to a "real" college as you so proclaimed. Denial won't help you. When I was in the eighth grade I applied to an arts high school that was very prestigious, but I didn't get accepted, so I became bitter and said negative things about the school, saying "they ask for so much its unrealistic", and "they wouldnt know what art is if it knocked on their door and slapped them in the face." Point being I hated that school until I came to terms with myself and realized, that my audition was very mediocre and I wasn't at all a good or very well developed musician at the time, I just didn't want to admit it.

I doubt Full Sail is even half of what you claim it is. I would have a very good idea, being that I've visited the campus before and got a good look at it and the student body for myself.

Remember that Full Sail is NOT for everyone, and if you can't admit that it wasn't right for you and have bitter feelings, then you did the school a great favor. I'm sure they don't want you there either if you you're not gonna enjoy learning.

questionI've heard alot of controvercial things about this school; Good and bad in large proportions. Since you gave it a really bad review, I am hoping that you can help clean the air a little on the College. I hope that we can really discuss it in depth.
commentWhat is being said is true. I've been planning on going to Full Sail since I was 14. Now that I'm graduating in a year, I decided to do a little more digging. I had a cousin that attended Full Sail for game designing. Now he's back at home and cleans viruses off of computers. My second home is the local music store. The owner knew of what I wanted to do and told me that she personally was not impressed. She said that the hours were horrible, the neighborhood wasn't too nice, and that most of the students ended up back at home, doing a job that they could've earned by going to cthe community college. I'm sorry, I care about my future career too much to take such a risk at a school with such bad reviews.
