Only
go to this SSU if there is a specific program
that excites you. The social life is awful.
Student moral is very low. Rohnert Park is by
all means an armpit community that belongs the south or
the midwest. Some professors are wonderful but most are
middle of the road. I had a mathematics professor
that had a stuttering problem and was unable at the
time to follow what he was saying. An english
TA even told me that I should attend another school
because SSU was a shitty place to get an education.
Mel Graves was a great teacher in the music
program but he has since passed away RIP.
Most people
at SSU seemed depressed and they did not want to
be there. The local police refered to my friends
and I as transient citizens. Everyone I knew including
myself was kicked out of the dorms by the end
of the year because the campus cops created a police
state atmosphere.
If I were to do it all
over again I would have gone out into the real
world, worked for a while, go to a JC and
then attend a respectable University. In fact that is
exactly what I did after graduating from SSU. Now
I am a mechanical engineering student at UT Austin.
The
main thing that I came away with from SSU is
to listen to yourself. Don't beat your head against
the wall by doing something you hate everyday. If
you go here make sure you are in a program
you love right off the bat so you are not
wasting your time and realize that this school will not
provide a typical American college experience.
