The impersonal nature of UCLA took me aback. I suppose it's not a suprise that one might feel isolated at a university with 35,000+ people- and if you're more extroverted, it's easy to get involved with different organizations and social circles. Overall, I feel like my academic experience was stellar- I loved the women's studies department, and enjoyed most of the poli sci classes…but…I also left UCLA feeling like I had few ties to the school beyond my diploma.
