I dunno, it no longer seems like the "prestige" of ucla will automatically put you at the top of the totem pole. there have been records of csulb grads getting jobs over ones from ucla, but you didn't hear that from me… |
Major: Physics (This Major's Salary over time)
i had to make a decision: narrowed to ivy or a california school. hmmm, what to do . . . i wanted prestige, but i wanted ucla. more than stanford, berkeley, and certain east coast schools. how about illinois? the south? i got ucla AND prestige. this school has lived up to my desires. if you want to hear people say wow, then go to harvard. (i must admit that many people say wow to ucla - especially outside of the us.) if you want your dreams to come true and have a great education and prestige, too, then ucla is it. our great ucla football dominance of many years past may be coming back. NOW is the time to dive in and become a part of history. BRUIN history. as someone else also noted, i never once had a class taught by a ta. classes are taught by professors. the ta is for sections that will help you immensely, if you care. ucla has some life changing teaching going on, so, if you are one of the lucky few who get that acceptance letter, then accept, of course. as for the negativity, personal choice and all that accepted: anybody who transfers in and after three weeks wants to apply to another three schools to transfer again must have a screw loose. three weeks is not even enough time to find all of the bathrooms on campus, let alone discover all of ucla's greatness. i will miss my years at ucla and will be back . . .
