Major: Mechanical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
One thing I really love about SB is that I am so close to the ocean and natural beauty. The engineering program here seems to be a little unorganized, but it is definitely taking steps in the right direction. We are in a kind of reorganization stage with all of the construction and new programs coming to campus.I hate the party school stigma. Yeah people can have fun here. But thats not all SB is good for. Besides, the ability to flex your social muscles is a good life skill that you can gain while at SB. My favorite comment on the subject of UCSB being a party school is from a biology professer at a parent orientation meeting: "All schools are party schools, at least SB has a nice background and amiable weather. You know what kids are doing at those Ivy League schools during the frigid winters? I'll tell you. They are sitting up in their ivy towers drinking hard liqour."
