Well, you get what you pay for. CSU is very cheap, and its education value is reflective of that. Be careful in enrolling in CSU because it is nationally accredited school. Now, since regionally accreditation is considered the gold standard by many quality colleges and employers, having a nationally accredited degree from colleges such as CSU may hold you back from gaining employment or applying to a degree program at a regionally accredited school. If you're going to start a degree at CSU, make sure you finish it there because you will more than likely not be able to transfer any credits. I just finished four classes from CSU (MBA Program), and I'm getting out of there. I'm enrolling at a regionally accredited school and they will not take any of my CSU courses…so it was pretty much a waste of time and money. I'm just happy that I received my undergrad from a regionally accredited college. Now, my experience with CSU has been pleasant; a little too pleasant. The MBA course is way too easy. I have been submitting half-a$$'d essay papers for my coursework, mainly because I didn't feel like writing, and got an A. I've submitted those types of papers for my past two classes, and received A's in all four of the classes I have taken. I have a 4.0 GPA. As a matter of fact, everyone on this thread at CSU seems to have a 4.0 GPA. Now, for all the military folks out there trying to get a degree so they can get a commission…for Navy…make sure you get your undergrad from a regionally accredited school. You will not qualify for an officer program in the Navy with a nationally accredited degree. If you go LDO or CWO, then it really doesn't matter because a degree is not required. So, I know many will not agree with my post, but that's ok; everyone is entitled to their opinion. But one thing is for certain, those who are in leadership positions in companies have their biographies posted on the web. Type in a google search such as "is a graduate from Columbia Southern University," and you will find no such person. Now substitute CSU with a more well-known, regionally accredited college, and you will find more success. Final thought - If you are trying to get a federal government job, you may have some success with a CSU degree. The requirement for many civil service positions is that you have a degree recognized by the department of education.

There are others too that have graduated and used their CSU degrees to benefit their careers. I graduate next spring. The main thing seems to be to discover if your field's recognizing agency (BCSP for example) will recognize a degree from CSU. If they will, great, and if not as in your Navy example, then you are correct in suggesting they look elsewhere (if what you said was true—because we see that not everything you stated is true).

Type in a google search such as “is a graduate from Columbia Southern University,” and you will find no such person.

I enoyed reading your post though and you do make some valid points. Thank you.
