I
graduated from one of the largest high schools in Chicago
and then went on to go to engineering school in
Milwaukee, I found out very quickly that that wasn't for
me so I looked into photography programs and found Dominican
through one of my best friends. The school is great
in almost every aspect, sure the food is usually pretty
awful and it has a small social life, but take
it from me (who didn't excel socially in high school)
I have really grown here. I have made a ton
of good friends over the past 3 years that there
always seems to be someone to talk to, even during
weekends (as a resident I frequently enjoy staying on campus
during weekends). Those few people that complained about there not
being enough parties shouldn't have applied for a small school
but should have gone to a big state school if
they wanted their college experience to be about partying, (and
besides having an on campus party in the res halls
is a horrible idea anyways). The academics are what a
college experience should be and they are fantastic at Dominican,
when I transferred I had a D- gpa and now
I have a strong B+ gpa. I have excelled here
and am glad I chose Dominican, it really has become
my home.
