I went to USC for a few years…It's hard to fill out this questionnaire objectively. I wasn't in the position to truly appreciate USC, so as a result, my opinion is a bit bias. USC is special place, and if I had to do it over here is how I would do it. This is my advice to you:

First, if you are blond haired, blue eyed, and especially male, this university is the place for you. In fact, I would not go to any other university if you have these qualities. If you are on the fence about attending, or even if you have not considered USC, but you are a male with blond hair and blue eyes, you need to attend USC.

There are some who see having a preference for blond hair, blue eyed males as historically distasteful. There are some who see entities or institutions with "Master Plan(s)" as historically problematic. This is not the case with USC. USC literally has a "Master Plan." Also, at USC,these types of individuals can do things that lesser people can not. Especially if they join a fraternity.

So second, if you attend USC, you need to join a frat or sorority. Even if you are considering another school, you need to seriously think about coming to USC just to join a fraternity or sorority. Joining this elite group of people puts you on a exalted place in society. So exalted that you will be able to make Dominique Strauss-Kahn jealous. So exalted, that you will be able to enjoy yourself with the company of the opposite sex 40 stories above everyone else, in broad daylight, and allow lesser beings to witness your god-like prowess.

Third, if you have lots of money, you need to attend USC. The Beatles once said, "Money can't buy me love;" Kanye West once said, "Money isn't everything but having it is." If you feel the former statement is ludicrous and the latter sums up your life's mantra, then USC is the place for you. If you know that money doesn't grow on tress but that money can grow trees, USC is the place for you.

If you feel misunderstood and alone because your parents never send you to majorca, st bart's, or any other european getaway, but instead send you to Cabo or Lake Tahoe, then you need not worry. USC gets you. USC feels you. USC understands the world is not fair for people like you.

If you feel the need to rise up against the LAPD because they crack down on your "right" to throw giant, lavish parties, saturated them with drugs, alcohol and 100's of people, USC is the place for you. If you feel that the LAPD is a thorn in your side, and isn't fair because it won't let you let you do these things, in fact, if you feel that the law itself is beneath you in every way, and isn't fair because it won't let you do these things, you need to attend USC. If you're sick of having to "deal" with LAPD, or any other legitimately certified police force, look no where else, USC has its own security force who ability to arrest anyone remains a question in my mind. (But watch out for you bike!)

Finally, if you attend USC, do not try isolate yourself from everything that goes on. Instead, let go of your anxiety and conscience and immerse yourself into USC's culture. Do not be alarmed when on your second day of class, Communist Bookstore owners clad in military regalia dictate their manifesto in front of everyone in attendance. Instead, support their local business by buying their books and embrace their diversity of thought. Do not be alarmed if people blame someone you know when this person wakes up in the middle of a frat house with no memory and no pants. Instead, let go of your paranoia and embrace this as a calculated risk involved when going out to parties. It will only bring you and your friends closer.

Remember, college is what you make of it. And if you can make yourself a blond haired, blue eyed male, then you need to make yourself go to USC. In fact, you owe it to yourself.

On positive note, Los Angeles is a vibrant, multifaceted, multicultural city. But you would never know it by talking with people at USC.

commentUSC has more international students than any other university in the usa i am guessing most international students at usc are not blond haired and blue eyed. if this is what usc wanted in their student body they probably would not accept so many international students.
