I just hate this school. I regret coming here multiple times a day. I'll look around when I'm on campus and convince myself that everything is just fine, and that there's no reason not to love my school. But the fact of the matter is that at the end of the day, I go to sleep feeling deflated. For students here, it's all parties, drinking, being trashy, being snobby, and spending money. I worked so hard in high school with the hopes of having just a great time in college. I literally feel depressed here. Unfortunately, I don't have parents that hand me cash up the ass. I work to pay my tuition, my groceries, my clothes, and anything else that I want. And students of modest, hard-working, and genuine character can expect to go completely unappreciated here. Don't expect to find people looking for true friendships. People here are materialistic, superficial, and completely misguided.

commentI completely agree with your observations! I have lived all over the US and have never in my life lived in a city or been to a school where the people were anywhere near as fake and unauthentic as I fond them to be in LA (particularly within the USC community). It felt like I was on another planet! Hang in there, but you may want to seriously consider transferring. I dont care how "elite" of a university USC has become, or how many connections they promise you…life is just too short!
commentI'm sorry you feel that way. I am waiting to hear back from USC, and I have definitely been wondering about how I would fit in there as a lower-income, introverted person. I hope you find your place, however it may be–to me, you sound like a wonderful, underappreciated person, and I hope things have improved since you posted this last year! <3
responseYou sound like a nerd. You should of gone to fUCLA. Fight on! Matt Barkley for Heisman!
commentI hope things get better for you since you sound like an authentic person who deserves better.
responseHey, just start making friends "Quite Bright." There are plenty of people like yourself. A number of us worked hard and have a strong ethic in that department. Don't hold the parties against the "rich" kids, once they get out of SC, unless they majored in business and managed above a 3.0 their lives are only going to follow a downward trajectory.

Try to sense out the academically serious people and make bonds with them. There are more than you think. How do you expect to meet them if you write off everyone as a brat

responseI think your review was for the wrong school. This definitely fits PERFECTLY for Pepperdine. You think you hate USC but Pepperdine is a million times worse. Chin up, things will look better.
