Very interesting. I went there in the 1980's and we had a lot of that too- except the "molly" of course. The frats were always partying out of control, because they were off campus. Weeds was everywhere, but it was more of a minority. Now with the legalization in Colorado, it must be much worse. But we didn't have the internet, cell phones, iPads or HD TV's in our dorms either. So we had to actual communicate and socialize with other students on a personal level. Parents were virtually absent from decision making. I am sure t's still a wonderful place, but all schools are what you make of them |

I am currently enrolled at CU Boulder, and I already regret it. It has not even been a full year for me, and I already regret it. I beg you, if you have the tiniest regret about going here, do not even consider it. Appearance and title is not everything. When you hear the rumors about CU Boulder being a party school, that is because they are true. About 99.9% true, save for the rare person you stumble upon who has the dignity not to smoke weed or drink every night. The things you hear in high school about saying no to drugs and alcohol, everyone here has disregarded; in fact, people will judge you if you DON'T do drugs and alcohol. A girl died here from alcohol poisoning about a month ago when Obama came. It was sad, but not a big surprise because this is the bad vibe you get from this school. Here, a social life means going to frat parties and drinking and smoking weed and "Molly" and having sex. There are no real friends for you here, outside of doing those activities, because if you can't bring booze, they won't even consider hanging out with you. But people are really big on sports here, so that's great. Except if you're not careful, you might just get hit by a kid on a bike or a skateboard. Don't bring your bike because you will not find a place to put it.You feel lost in this huge school. If you like being given undivided attention, and if you like it when someone remembers your name, and feeling mentally stimulated and enlightened, DO NOT GO HERE! If you want your college career to be a huge party filled with alcohol, sex and drugs galore, then just open your hand and you can get some here. For getting a decent, respectable, fulfilling education that is worth while, turn around and do not look back. You made the right decision.
