When I attended the College, it had a number of programs to help students develop beyond the coursework - they were programs that helped with career decisions, resume writing, and getting internships. Students could even apply for funds to help with internships. Campus jobs or working with professors on research were excellent ways to gain additional experience. The only negative I felt was that professors in the social sciences (not in the sciences or humanities) purposefully dumbed things down to appeal to the less competent students, but I suspect this teaching strategy generally characterizes some social sciences. I find myself using skills I learned at Conn College every day of my life.
