I was shocked at how hard it was going to be here. There's a high dropout rate, but I think it's more because students can't finance it, even with affordable tuition. Many that go here are not from well-to-do families, and some are on things like Pell, loans, etc. And some come here thinking it will be an easy degree. I've worked harder than I ever thought I would. Most of the teachers are fantastic- there are a few that are either nasty, or just not good at what they do. I guess that's anywhere. But here, they are really the friendliest campus like they advertise. We're losing our president this year, too so I don't know how that will change the personality of JSU. I don't know why so many students don't stick around on weekends. There's lots to do, even with a run down town around us. Football has been really good the past few years, and the band is amazing.
