Education Quality: It's all what you put into it. Some people say Southern is very easy, others struggle and can't even keep passing grades. It all depends on the course, teacher, and your work ethic. It's definitely different for everyone.

There's a wide variety of classes, and if you use ratemyprof.com you can find a great teacher. There are some bad teachers, as there are at every school.

Campus: The campus has been under construction for years. Most campuses I've been to are constantly being remodeled. The appearance isn't dreadful, but it isn't flowers and trees left and right.

Dorms: My dorm is currently being renovated, and there are constantly construction workers and the exterior is pretty awful. This being said, it isn't an issue. It has never ruined my sleep, school work, or social life. None of the other dorms are being worked on and are relatively nice. North Campus and Brownell/Shwartz are ideal.

Social Life: Again, it's what you make of it. Most of the people are friendly if you give them a chance. Some aren't. But you get that dynamic anywhere. There are plenty of opportunities to make friends on campus through clubs, etc. I see the same people everyday. Many people go to the school, but the campus is small. Living on campus is tricky in the friends department because many people go home on the weekends. And it's a clubbing school. Most people go out on Thursdays or the weekend to nightclubs or nearby bars in New Haven.

Food: The dining hall always serves great food, and there's always a variety. The student center also has 4 different eat-in restaurants (Sbarros, some grill, a Mexican type restaurant, and a Subway-esque restaurant). I've never had a problem with the food

Surrounding Area: New Haven. Great city, plenty to do. Taking the bus from campus is 50 cents or something. Not the most safe city, but most cities aren't. Be wary of where you go, but most of the general downtown parts are safe. Always something going on.

Overall: If you want to have a good college experience, you can have one here. If you don't, then you won't.
