I love the community and the academics, but this is definitely a commuter school. Campus is a complete ghost-town on weekends, and often on the quiet side on weekday nights. Also this is a small state school; you have to be patient. Clubs sometimes struggle to get high attendance, information available on classes and programs can often be incomplete or outdated, teachers don't respond to email, things can be pretty disorganized, many students enter with skills below college level… But if the school has what programs you what to study, and you're looking for a community that's not all white and rich, and you are able to focus on the positive and make the best of it, you can have a great experience at SCSU.
