Major: Other (This Major's Salary over time)
I just recently graduated from UCONN in 2008 after transferring there in 2005 from another university. My experience at UC has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. I have never felt so welcomed on the campus and when I go to visit I still feel that welcomed feeling that I felt when I transferred in 2005.These past comments about drinking all the time and partying is not the case. True there is a Spring Weekend in April where the 15,000 people in the community walk down the same road and the following Tuesday there is triple the amount of names in the police blotter, but if you don't want to drink or party you dont have too, the majority of the people that I know at UCONN are not heavy drinkers and if they were they would probably not be there anymore, considering the academics are getting much harder. I joined a sorority as a sophomore and it was a truly great experience, but without it my experience very well might have been the same at UCONN. There are numerous dorm floors that are dry and there are CA's that stop anyone that tries to bring alcohol into them even if you are over the age of 21. The people that gave UCONN a negative rating never gave it the opportunity that it deserved. The orientation leaders the moment you get on campus, tell you that this experience is what you make of it, if you get out there and join stuff or even to become friendly on your dorm floor with people, then it will be what your looking for. Don't think just because 20% of the population drinks every night that those same people will be there next semester because odds are they wont be.
