Date: Sep 11 2004 Major: Mechanical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time) Florida Tech was wonderful in that class sizes were small enough that in any major-specific classes, I could meet with my professors as much as I needed. The small size also allowed opportunities for leadership on campus. The major downside to the university was that the price was significantly higher than most everywhere you can get a comparable classroom education, and the administration in general showed no sympathy for that condition. Bottom & mid-level employees outside the classroom acted as if any out-of-the-ordinary request was unreasonable, and made less of an effort to accomodate students than I've seen from staffs at large (and significantly cheaper) state schools. I found that academic staff's behavior was generally personal and supportive, but behavior of the remainder of the employees was generally antagonistic and far below what one would expect from a school where the tuition of so few students contributed so much to the operating costs of the school.
