First of all, If you are from out of state, expect to pay $18,000 for tuition instead of the $12,000 that they tell you.

If you are not hispanic, you will not fit in. Not speaking Spanish is definitly a hassle. The people in Miami are not friendly or welcoming. The school treats you like a number.. do not attempt to go to any office or call anyone without having your Panther ID number. You may have to put it on your papers and tests.

The campus itself is beautiful. We have an outdoor art exhibit which includes something like 60 or 70 pieces of artwork around the campus. There are palm trees, banyan trees, ponds and really cute ducklings. The weather is nice. It's a 20 minute drive to south beach or coconut grove. Don't get too excited about Miami beach- it smells like trash. The weather is nice- it's December and I can go lay by the pool if I choose to. Other than the people, there are way too many cars in Miami. A ten minute commute can easily take 1/2 hour or more depending on traffic. Drivers are HORRIBLE.

Girls- if you're not into Latino men (i.e. very short), this is not the place for you.

The teachers here are okay, but I've had a few bad experiences. The level of education is what I expected- not as hard as they tell you it will be when you're in high school.

Overall, this is a good place to go to school if you're a Florida resident. I'm transferring back to my homestate because of the ridiculously high out of state tuition.

If you live on campus, apply early to get into Everglades hall.. it's definitly worth it. Panther hall is a ghetto.

Do you think Florida international university is an ideal place for a black person i don't mind cubans how hard are the buisness classes if you major in business do you have to take accounting ,is it required.what is the schools grading scale.thank you for your help
