If you live in-state, by all means apply. The tuition is cheap and their financial aid is more than generous if your grades are decent. The school is so large and the population is so diverse that you're bound to find someone that catches your eye, despite the prevalent trends. The problem lies in the fact that it's hard to make friends. Although most people are approachable, no one seems willing to interact or go beyond "acquaintance" status. I'm sure there are many creative and interesting people out there, but how you reach them is beyond me.

If you're interested in the frat/sorority scene I hear it's differant than at most schools. However, they're loud and annoying enough that their presence is known. It seems fairly easy to get into them: a lot of creepy chicks from my highschool were able to do so.

The education itself is OK. If you were interested enough you could research the teacher and find some information on them before you take the courses, making class interesting or slack. The sad part is that most kids opt for the latter. The art, english and history programs seem weak, although I'm not the best judge of that. The business program is good, although cluttered with seemingly naive and greedy people.
