Florida Southern has low admissions standards, and those standards show on campus. Many students are closeminded and immature, many to the point that they still belong in high school. The student body is unbearably cliquish, and many people are intolerant of anybody who is different in any way. The small size of the school causes many students to be impertinent and inconsiderate of their peers' privacy and of what those peers do. Worst of all, many of the students here are judgmental of each other. Many of the faculty are old school, and are unwilling to help students who are having personal problems, preferring instead to write them off as "lazy." In particular, there were two professors in the Math Department whom I still despise, even 13.5 years after leaving the school.FSC is so small that in many ways, it's really more of a vo-tech school than a college. It tends to concentrate on a few vocationally-inclined majors, such as education and business, meaning that more academic areas are neglected. For example, foreign language classes are pretty much limited to what students need to fulfill their general education requirements.Last year, I requested the alumni office to remove my name from the alumni list: this is how much I dislike FSC. I pretty much wasted two years of my life there.
