I graduated with a four year degree, and though my training in the music department has contributed to my success as both a teacher, a nightclub entertainer, and composer, I do not recommend this school to anyone. While the social and religious standards are quite high, I would not consider that alone to be a commendable attribute of this college. I say this because the college has a very strict and mean-spirited group of both faculty, staff, and students who enforce the rules, in what usually ends up being a very judgmental and harsh way.

What I believe the founder and other higher-ups fail to realize is that the same immaturity that they are trying to curtail in the students they call "bad" or "sinful," is the same immaturity in the student leadership that they have given extensive authority and power. With few exceptions, the Gestapo-like rule-enforcers are a special kind of mean, often bragging about the students they have gotten expelled. To make it even worse, you are guilty until proven innocent.

Despite all this, the main reason I give for not attending this school isn't because of some bitter desire to get back at the school for their rules. It's because I think it unwise to go to a school - that is to say, an ACADEMIC institution - whose most definable characteristic is their social environment. It seems foolish to me to go to a school that has such an unstable social environment. In a school that expels almost 500 students a year, your academic future is unsafe. If you can get expelled from that school simply for KNOWING about something and not saying anything about it, I think that you are foolish to attend. Don't forget, they don't need to prove anything. They only need to think you are guilty.—PCC ALUMNI, May'05
