You must have really sucked in school.Career services is one of the most successful branches of the student life office. Also, I guess you failed to realize that in the art world you need to network. The fact that you just went to school and expected a job right after graduation is pretty much the most unintelligent choice you could have made.I bet you never went to alumni presentations, tried contacting alumni or getting internships. Before griping about the school you should think about what you FAILED to do. Ringling isn't a good school because they give you everything you need, it's because they have the tools you can pick up yourself. You sound like some unmotivated artist thats in a lot of debt from going to Ringling where you didn't take advantage of the amenities. Also, learn how to spell. |
Sometimes you have to face facts that some things are not that much in demand. Everybody want's the dream job. To be a Hollywood movie star..!!! Some of us just want to make a descent living. Dreams and desires change anyway so it is best to find something practical and realistic. Else you just open the door to get ripped off by vampire colleges. Be real. |

I can confirm what the OP is saying. I graduated from there a few years after the original review. I had a near identical experience and I know top students that will say the same. The first response must be one of these 2 office people or at least someone speaking from alot of privilege. I'm still plugging away at this and can say in ten years they have doubled their cost! Who pays 250k for a 4 year art degree… I wouldn't if I had to do it over. |

Good time of day. Of course, a college education gives you a better chance of getting a good job, but it is equally important to pass the interview successfully. I advise students to go to https://mrsimon.ai/ to try to pass. This great experience can help you on a real one, no doubt. |

Ringling promises many things they cannot, and did not keep. The biggest broken promise is the one of job placement after graduation. Prospective students are promised a 85-99% placement the first year after graduationa and that is completely false and misleading. The career services there consist of 2 people, two very busy people with little time to devote to individuals. After graduation, wide eyed and eager students are heading into a highly competitive job market unaware how hard it is to land a job because of false information given to them by the school. They are under the impression that the sight of "Ringling School of Art and Design" on their resume will drastically improve their chances of getting a job, when in reality that thought is dangerously wrong. It took me years after graduation to get a job in a creative field, and I've yet to get one with good pay. Ringling will say what they need to, and continues to do so simply to "capture" new students. They seems to know that although we (artists) love what we do, we are all still afraid of being a "starving artist". They know this, so they tell you what you want to hear as a meager attempt to calm your fears. If you choose to attend Ringling, be aware that getting a job after graduation is completely up to you, and is VERY difficult.
