Don't look at the other people's comments, most are unable to cope with the popularity types and are stuck in a dungeon with no windows. Alot of kids today are afraid of making conversation with cute girls/guys or other types. The social scene of ringling is great, if you can network (if you can say hello to a new student) then your chances of meeting new people.

As far as Education it's amazing (computer Animation), sure ringling has a ton of other majors and I think they are competitive to. RISD is known for thier fashion and industrial design so I hate when kids are complaining when they infact made the bad choice of going to ringling. It takes hardwork to be succesful at ringling and if your the types that like to sit back and relax then maybe you should transfer to Full Sail or AAU because those colleges are notorius for being Diploma Mills.

As far as Ringlings location, it's getting better and better yes it may be in the "projects" but it's like living in the city of boston or even miami theres not one place in a state where shit never hits the fan. As far as I can tell in my 4 years I've never seen prostitutes/whores/gangbangers/driveby's, Alot of kids make these things up because they are actually sitting in thier dorm afraid to see what real life is. Stop playing world of warcraft and get a social life!

Overall Ringling is one of the best colleges you can get into without having a GPA of 4.0 (/cough Calarts). If your into Computer Animation, illustration, graphic design and others (except ID,FD) then Ringling is where you want to be and the $35k/yr is very very worth it.

Hello! I'm extremely interested in attending this college(RISD) when I'm done with highschool. I'd like to major in computer animation, the school is close to home, and seems like the overall best choice. What sort of prerequisites does this school require? Good grades? Backround in art? My highschool is a technical school and I'm studying digital design (I was told I'd learn some animation here), so I'm not sure if this will help me get in or not.
