Tech students take very challenging course loads, but their hard
work is rewarded by a competive degree from an outstanding
school. Many year-long courses are combined into one semester; for
example most colleges have a two semester General Chemistry course,
but at Tech the course is condensed into one semester.
Therefore, the paces of the courses are rigorous. Georgia Tech
attracts students who were at the top of their class
in high school. Generally, new students learn quickly that in
order to receive the same grades that they were used
to receiving in high school, they must put in much
more effort in studying and keeping up with assignments. A
few bad grades don’t frustrate students who keep up with
their assignments, and students who have good time management skills
fare the best at Tech. The Tech student body has
a niche for every type. There are many excellent sports
and extracurricular clubs that will provide you with diversions from
studying and classes. I definitely would suggest staying involved with
a club because it will insure you a tight social
network of friends who share your interests. Tech also has
many of lectures series and seminars to enrich your education.
Tech prepares students well for a professional career by incorporating
technology into all subjects, and a campus body full of
top-preforming students creates a stimulating environment.
