I
transfered to UIW after a few rocky years elsewhere, and
it was the best thing I could have possibly done.
I only wish I had gone there for my entire
undergraduate degree! When I transfered I lost a few hours
- some of the classes I had taken were under
a different name and it was a struggle to get
UIW to accept them, but they DID eventually take all
of my high-grade hours. The majority of the professors are
friendly, helpful, intelligent, and personable. I've only had a couple
professors I didn't like, and it was primarily because they
were disorganized.
The food has a bad rap here, but
it must have improved a lot because I don't have
any problems with it at all. I live off-campus so
I don't have any experience with the meal plans, but
there's always a good selection of relatively healthy food, and
there are 3 little cafes as well as the main
cafeteria, so you don't have to trek across the entire
campus to get your food.
When I first started at
UIW the parking was TERRIBLE, but they have just opened
up a brand-new parking garage which ALWAYS has empty spaces,
and there are multiple shuttles running up and down the
hill all day so you don't have to walk miles,
and the wait is never long. Just make sure you
give yourself about 20 minutes before class starts so you
can walk from the drop-off point to the classrooms.
