Major: Political Science (This Major's Salary over time)
I came to UGA primarily because of the HOPE Scholarship and the HONORS Program. So far, I've greatly enjoyed my relationships and interactions with my fellow students and my teachers. I love the campus; its beautiful. There's a thriving social life that is primarily centered around going downtown and football. However, if these don't interest there is enough diversity to find your own niche. One thing I do not like about the student body is that there are a lot of people who are quite racist (primarily the IFC fraternities). But for the most part people here tend to be openminded. Despite all this, I would NOT recommend UGA to anyone. The quality of education is excellent; however, once you get into UGA you'll be treated as a source of money. The administration (all offices!) is quite rude and unhelpful. Not to mention they will do anything to nickel and dime you. On several occasions while adjusting my schedule, I've logged in to find my registration account flagged for various random reasons. What that means is that I've had my schedule F*CKED by the administration several times. As a result of the last time my account was flagged I was prevented from taking a core prereq for my major and now forced to graduate a semester late. Moral of the story: if you don't want to deal with a bullshit administration for the next 4 years of your life; go anywhere but UGA.
