Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time)
I'm currently a senior biology major at WJU and from Cleveland Ohio. The professors are wonderful. They are very approachable, for the most part. Most of them are quite intelligent. I've had a very positive experience in the science department. The arts programs are not quite as emphasized as the science, business, and health care programs are here, but the art (literature and art) professers are very skilled. The nursing program is quite vigorous and well prepares students for their careers. The philosophy and religious departments are rather strong, as well. Wheeling Jesuit truly educates the whole person. There is a great emphasis on service, and it is highly unlikely that anyone who graduates from here will not do at least some kind of service. It is a nice, close, community. Extra-curricular activities and on-campus festivities are a little limited, but the students still always find ways to enjoy themselves. The housing for upperclass students is much better than average. It's West Virginian location near the hills makes it beautiful in the fall. Oglebay, which is nearby has a great light display in the winter. There are only about 1,000 students. There is no football team, but there are basketball, lacrosse, and soccer games to attend instead. School spirit is still sometimes lacking, but overall, most of the students still enjoy WJU.
