Drake is an absolutely wonderful school for Actuarial Science and in terms of Faculty Accessibility.

There are also plenty of opportunities to learn for the sake of it.

I attended a talk by a Math Professor from UCLA, but since it was a Wednesday afternoon, I was the only student in the audience of 5 people, the other 4 being Professors from the Math and Physics Departments.

I expected to feel out of place, but they went out of their way to help me understand, to the best of my ability, what the talk was about. Even though it had a lot of grad school math concepts.

I don't think such an enriching experience is possible in a larager school.

But let me be frank. While I absolutely love the people, professors and my classes, the dining hall food and my dorm are pathetic. If you plan to come to Drake, make sure you don't get stuck at Jewett.

Ever since I came here, I found myself getting up early for class and looking forward to even morning classes on gloomy 30 degree Iowa days…I never skip my classes because they're just so much fun! :)

Drake is not for everyone. It is a small, laid back and slightly conservative community.

But it isn't quiet as bad as some others have made it out to be. I've never felt scared walking around campus even at 2am.Off campus however, the east side is sort of ghetto but not too bad…overall, I think Drake is an awesome place to be.
