Date: Aug 08 2012 Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time) My son attended Drake University on a soccer scholarship and while there endured comments from the head coach in front of the entire team about his race, his families' financial status and was harassed because he would not come back to train while injured and under a doctor's care. In addition to being Gatorade Soccer Player of the Year, had also received academic scholarships as well for his performance in high school. After what had become an impossible situation with his coach, as the harassment continued, he opted to talk to the college AD about the issues. The AD bullied him, admitted the coaches shortcomings and suggested that my son was somehow responsible for his predicament. This happened after other players, stepped foreword to share similar stories. My son proceeded to petition the President as members of the Drake faculty encouraged him to step forward. The President responded in support of the AD - burying the issue that will one day be very detrimental to Drake University. My son subsequently transferred into a college and program that live their mission. This all happened while issues of racism emerged on campus. The coach is still there. Drake continues to say one thing and manage its athletic affairs contrary to their presented image.
