If we can measure the success of an educational institution by the successes of its alumni, then it's simply appropriate to state that AMU has been a success story for me. My initial thought of going back to school under the conditions of a non-traditional format at AMU was quite questionable; however, after learning of AMU's relentless strive for regional accreditation in 2003, I decided to go for it. Another deciding factor was the faculty; the faculty had (still has) current real-world experience that would add value to the type of education I was looking for. I can't tell you how grateful I am to the faculty of AMU.

On another note, once I graduated from AMU with a BA in Marketing, I decided to role forward into a graduate program at Colorado State University and was admitted into their MBA program. I have retired from the military service and now live in Texas and have transferred to Texas A&M University (Commerce) as a resident student in their AACSB accredited Masters program. I am exited to say that I will graduate in December 2008—a few months from now.

What's my point…

I would not be in my current position without AMU. I urge all of you to make an informed decision on your educational direction using available and factual information…then go for it. Non-traditional education is not for everyone, but it doesn't mean that you should wait or use excuses to satisfy failures or fears. It's imperative to keep moving forward in order to reach an intrinsic need or desire.
