I am only in my first semester at AMU and I can state that it will be my last. I?ve found the homework to be unchallenging, or mindless busy work. They require all of your research come from their online library, which is not user friendly at all. This would be like a brick and mortar college saying that you can only do research inside the school library, it is ridiculous.

The website is difficult to navigate. The initial Coll 100 class that they make you take is a waste of time, and the text book you learn out of is poorly written and unscientific. See its reviews on Amazon.com for more info on that. Beyond that, the Coll 100 class will not transfer to other universities and is a complete waste of my time. That I paid $750 for it is sickening.

I don't recall that they require all of your research to come from their online librbary. If so, this is only the requirement for COLL 100 which is made so people understand how the online library works. After that you are free to use whatever resources you want.

Regarding COLL100, it is like any other prereq for a university. I do agree that COLL100 is boring and a waste of time, but for most, it is very beneficial. After COLL100, the rest of the classes are just like brick and mortar classes.

The requirements to only use the online classes is not only for the Coll 100 class. I am taking 9 credit hours currently including Coll 100 and every class will only allow sources from the AMU online library, which sucks.

I have been at AMU for 2 years and have yet to have a class only allowing research in the online library. The only research restriction I have seen is that Wikipedia is not allowed in any class.

I agree with the post above. Your claim that classes allow only research from the school's library are complete and utter blather. The online library IS a useful tool, and possesses much the same resources as any other library. I have routinely used scholarly sources from many different locations and heve NEVER had a problem.
