This school will have fools believing that they are brilliant scholars & bragging about their GPA on Facebook, when the truth is they their GRE scores would have been considered subpar or inadequate had they enrolled online with an accredited & non-profit university. They are not fooling anyone with their inflated GPA. America Military University…eyerolls…is for those who know they don't really measure up. This is why they searched far & wide with their GI Bill to find a college that will make them feel like quite an accomplish person among their family members or friends. It will only be a matter of time when they find it was really a waste of time as Employers know what type of real education the person has versus that of a Bachelors or Masters from solid respectable Universities.

responseYou seem like a bitter child with this post. Honestly you are entirely wrong. As with any Distance Learning college it is what you make of it. Can a student "phone it in" and make a passing grade yes, but you can do the same thing at a B&M school so your point is lost there. As to GRE/GMAT scores while I cannot speak for my classmates I know that this is not true for me. I scored a 685 on the GMAT which is high enough to get me into any of the upper level Masters programs. Maybe if you spent less time whining and more time studying things would be different for you.
responseHow did you find out their GPA's and GRE's?

I know every person I have ever asked about school who cared enough to post to facebook has told me they are 4.0 students and massively high GRE scores.

Could it be, that like more institutions, they are inflating their scores? Perhaps a bit of critical thinking might help you understand that anyone who will brag in a public forum will inflate their score.

Have you ever posted on facebook "Hey Guys, I just failed that test, sweet" or "Hey guys I just managed to get my GPA to fall to 2.0"? I am guessing not…

responseIf you re-read my post to you I made no statements of others GPA's or test scores. What I can tell you is that I was in college prior to joining the military and had a 4.0 GPA when I decided to join the Navy. I am sitting at a 3.6 with AMU. As to GMAT scores (I did not take the GRE I took the GMAT as it is a more widely accepted test for the Masters Program I am pursuing) I also made no mention of anyone elses score I stated mine. The fellow servicemembers that I know that are attending AMU have similar GPAs to me ranging from 2.8 to 4.0. As I said, with any online college someone can phone it in and still likely pass of course you can do this in a Brick and Mortar curriculum with a non-profit college as well. Your general statements about this school are unfounded. If you want to complain have at it but do not make blanket statements for everyone as the majority of people do not agree with your "tunnel-vision" scope of this institution. If AMU were such a useless college I doubt I would have been accepted to the Masters program I was accepted to as it is 25th in the country for their MBA program.
questionTo the person who is posting comments, Could you please share which MBA program did you get accepted?

I'm at AMU and looking to attend graduate school after getting my BA with them.

responseBaylor university with a dual MBA/MHA
responseYeah sure you got into Baylor from AMU, lol.
commentThat Baylor program is for MSC or MC officers on active duty status captain or above. The fact that this was even a comparison is ridiculous. The Army partnered with Baylor to give additional education and reasons to hold onto their AMEDD officers. You were using this as a backup in case your packet was not accepted.
questionTo the person who took the GMAT exam: What did you use to study for the GMAT? I'm looking at applying to business school after I finish my undergraduate degree with AMU.
This discussion is pointless: there aren't ANY admissions requirements to APU. Any fool is admitted, as there isn't any admission criteria. No admission criteria, no competition or quality standards. Not respected in the academic community at all, a total joke. This is a degree mill! It is sad more than anything else.
commentThe fact that AMU is regionally accredited speaks volumes about their academic standards. Since hundreds of other "colleges" around the country cannot obtain this same credential. Furthermore, my MBA from AMU has been extremely beneficial and has landed me a high paying senior executive position at my current organization.
responseAshworth College can get and has accredidation. That says all anyone needs to know about what "accredited" is worth. But hey, since most of AMU's stundents are trying to get a job in government or government contracting, it doesn't matter where the degree comes from as long as the box is checked.
questionCan you get into AMU graduate school with a 2.0 GPA as an undergraduate? I really wanna continue my education

responseI received my B.S. with AMU and landed a 6 figure salary. It sounds like there are a lot of "students" in here that didn't use common sense when choosing their degree.
