If you visit, you still probably won't get a clear idea about what goes on at Knox. I have spent my freshman year there and have noticed that you can tell when it's a prospective student day by the number of people who whisper behind your back waving and smiling in your direction, and when you realize the quality of the food has suddenly skyrocketed; from reheated meatloaf and buttery mashed potatoes, to vegan EVERYTHING and fresh pies for dessert.

I got to Knox, I made amazing friends, I got to know my teachers and administrators. I found out that no matter what, the deans and the professors would help you and guide you any way they could, (with the exception of a few self righteous Uncle Rico types living in the past). However, I noticed very quickly that the students gossip, they are mean and unforgiving. I was bothered to the point of harassment, with phone calls at night and dirty looks at parties. I was bored beyond all belief by winter term as all there is to do is frat house parties and sleazy bars in town.

Kids were mugged outside my window, burglars ran across campus to escape police, rooms were broken into, and Knox is scrambling to figure out their security force.

For the most part if you don't care about a social life, and you didn't mind the drama from high school, Knox might be the place for you.

My advice: When you meet people at your prospective visit, keep in touch, befriend them, find out the real truth about the school, if it still suits you, go for it.

Knox students go on to amazing things, they either get into the best grad schools like Yale or Harvard, or they transfer to those great schools as Undergrad.
