I can honestly say I loved my time at Lake Forest College. I wish I had attended as a freshman and wasn't a transfer student. One of the neatest realizations I had was last semester when I had a class was an outstanding professor and found that he didn't necessarily teach me the material (exclusively), but he taught me HOW to think and interpret concepts in different ways. All the instructors I've had have been extremely supportive and simply outstanding in every way.The campus is stunning. Since the school is in a residential suburb, be aware that there isn't much of a nightlife nearby. Despite the area being upper class, I never got the impression anyone was snobbish or elitist. I really don't think most of the students are rich. I'm certainly not, but the school offers fantastic financial aid. Most of the criticisms I've had have been about the public safety office. I honestly don't think they do more than hand out parking tickets. The office is so inefficiently managed that you can expect to wait an hour on the first day of class to AFTER you've bought your parking permit just to go in and get the sticker. Get all your business with Public Safety finished before the first day (including getting your id).
